About AutismNotEvery1 and David
Things to know
Three years ago, we took a leap of faith, leaving behind the familiarity of city life to embrace the vastness of the countryside, all for our beloved son, David. Our hearts were filled with hope as we dreamed of granting him a brighter, more fulfilling lifestyle. Being Autistic and nonverbal, we yearned to create an environment where he could blossom, free from the anxiety of disturbing neighbors or the dangers of busy streets.
Life in the middle of nowhere has not been easy; it’s a struggle filled with challenges we never anticipated. Yet, amidst the isolation, we've witnessed a breathtaking transformation in David—like watching a flower unfurl its petals to bask in the sun. Today, he emanates a newfound ability to communicate his desires and needs, even if his words are few. Each small step he takes feels like a monumental victory, making every sacrifice worthwhile and igniting a fire in our hearts.
As we navigate the learning curve of our humble hobby farm, we are committed to equipping him with the tools he needs to grow into an independent and self-sufficient individual. The journey is filled with joy and frustration, but the love we share and the progress we see light up our world. David is not just surviving; he is thriving, and for that, we would endure any challenge, time and time again.
